Does Cardiff need its own Trafalgar Square?

Completely disagree about Trafalgar square being desolate, always full of people and the architecture around it is stunning and there are always things going on there, especially in the summer.

It's a subjective matter of taste, I guess. I see the architecture around TS as bombastic and arrogant - and the space is basically a pigeon toilet, but each to his own! I far prefer subtle and democratic public spaces but maybe that's just me!

I was walking around the centre today and realised that we're actually quite lucky in that Cardiff is incredibly pedestrian friendly. These public spaces (like Trafalgar Square) are required in cities like London that are, for the most part, very difficult to walk around by foot. So do we really need one?

We already have very unique public spaces such as Cardiff Castle, The Hayes, Cardiff Bay, Bute and Roath Park. So although it would be a nice feature (and there's plenty of spaces where it could be implemented, such as Callaghan Square and Central Square) I wouldn't be too disappointed, as we have plenty of assets that we take for granted.
