Proud of my city -sad for my country. The economically inactive have stolen our children's future.

Are you for real?
Who gives you the right to call half the population economically inactive including myself and others on here, a bit of humility might not go amiss.
Are you going to sit in your pram with your toys strewn around the floor or are you going to partake in the rebuilding of the UK.

Probably best to delete this whole thread!

Fair comment Zach - hopefully it'll calm down after todays result.

It is unlikely to calm down any time soon. This was a game changing decision for the economic and social future of our country. The repercussions for the UK are going to be tumultuous.

I just can't envisage a probable scenario under which people will see an improvement in their living standards and employment prospects.

The resignation of our PM was the second news story of the day. That says it all.

Yes of course this is massive I appreciate that. When I said it I meant the heat of the discussion on here, on issues like this it will end up getting nasty and personal surely we all know that. Approximately half will agree and half disagree with points made or indeed individual opinions. Still this place is a democracy so lets just hope people can respect others views.

You really don't like facts do you, Zach?

Mind you, those of us who remember some of your precious posts won't be surprised.

Paul, you have tolerated openly racist posts by Zach yet criticise simple facts.

I'm done here. It's been fun and I realise how difficult this is for you. Like many, many others Zach has finally driven me away. I hope you and he, and the few others left here can keep things going but I'm through.

When there's only Zach and yourself left you may understand the point so many of us have made.

Well that's a shame but I understand your decision.

As for me a rock and a hard place is where I find myself! primarily this forum is about cardiff developments and not politics, but this referendum will effect developments so it was obvious that it would be a big issue and discussed here. Zach suggested maybe the thread be deleted and that's what I referred to in saying fair comment. I dont like to delete any threads so hoped things would quieten down - wishful thinking i guess! :|

Anyway Ash - all the best to you, thanks for your many contributions and you'll always be very welcome here should you change your mind.

The referendum will divide people for a long time to come, this forums position is neutral on the issue - I voted with beliefs in why I voted, but they will not be known here as I want this place to remain a place to discuss and observe developments in this city and not get sidelined by a feeling of contributors that the forum is in this camp or the other. :?

People who voted Remain need a reality check. If you live in a political system where many people feel left behind this is the sort of thing that can happen. Post austerity there's not even the palliative of improving public services anymore.

I was rather chilled when someone pointed out that if Donald Trump can win the south and the rust belt he can be President. It's not impossible.

openly racist posts by Zach

I presume you meant the post on the immigrant lines in Croatia trying to get to the EU country of their choice.
Nothing to do with fleeing persecution this, Greece was a place of safety, but no they wanted the high GDP countries.
The respect and condition they treated the countries that were allowing them to get to their final destination was disgusting, this is nothing to do with racism.
I was surmising that this is why there has been a spike in UK/Cardiff littering of late and in my opinion there is.

Where I work, a large professional company, have now had to put up signs to tell people how to use the toilets ffs and this ain't for the ones that that voted to Leave.

It is not nice being on the losing side in any debate, argument or referendums, perhaps you could find another Huffington Post link to tell us the turnout of your precious 18-24 year olds? I can't, the liberal media not interested in that one!

In the mean time to cheer you up, here's a petition setup which has gained lots of support, the creator might have read it first before 1.5m agreed with it, probably sent on his new iPhone.

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215

As you said yourself "I wouldn't worry about it. ???? will be back in a few months, probably with a new user name."

Zach, you are a disgrace sometimes. If you've forced Ash to leave, then shame on you. He's worth 10 of you. It's not that you don't have anything to contribute, but you sometimes veer off into this crap. That post wasn't exactly your best moment, forget trying to defend it because it's indefensible.

Anyway, trying to bring this on-topic, I'd like to ask; What now for the City deal and metro? Is it already signed and agreed and the money secured, is it in jeopardy, or is it dead in the water?

Answers from informed people please, morons need not reply.
