are you sure about that? most people I speak to really couldn't care less either way. Politicians at Westminster and the baby red ken's in the Senedd are so far removed from us plebeians that most don't know who are supposed to represent us, what they stand for or what their policies are.

November's figures are out today. Oh dear. It seems the socialist attempt at improving the nation's only international gateway is floundering. Pax numbers year on year are down 18.5%. It's not all doom and gloom though, the private sector led bristol airport has seen pax numbers rise by 2.7%.

It not all bad news at Cardiff Airport, Thomas Cook are putting on a "single" long haul flight to Orlando next year and if things go well they may also put one on in 2016 as well!!

300 people, and that's not to be sniffed at says Carwyn Jones, head of the get people flying task force.

Thomas Cook Airlines will operate a one-off flight to Orlando on its long haul Airbus A330 fleet from Cardiff Airport next summer.

Alongside a 14 night hotel package, the flight will depart on August 28th.

The airline has also announced that it plans to run a further return flight in 2016 – on May 25 in another 14 night departure. Holidays and flights for 2016 will soon go on sale.

You have to check your anti Welsh facts before posting about CWL, the -18.5% is November 2014 as compared to November 2013 drop, the year on year drop is only -1.9%

You can't run an airport with once a week flights (Ryanair) or once a year in the case of Thomas Cook, best thing Carwyn can do is sell it and use the money to improve the road access to Bristol, this would directly benefit far more people in Wales.

It's quite depressing that you must smile when you read these articles, Jantra. Tell you what, let's sell it back to the w@@@@@s that ran it before.

Frankly, Walesonline aren't being particularly supportive in general...that is negative.

Who is laughing? I'm not, unless the owners get routes the airport is a busted flush. Everyone can see that. A year or so in and what new routes do we have? What new airlines?

Whilst we are at it which bright spark in the welsh government thought that omitting the airport from St Athan enterprise zone for aviation wwould be a good idea? Thankfully that luminary was taken out of the equation and replaced by someone with a brain and the airport was included.

Unless the airports gets routes that people want to use thry may as well shut the place down or turn it over to GA

Am I missing something here or could the airport not offer a good deal on landing charges to easyJet or Ryanair? It would have to be commercially confidential but bringing in large numbers of passengers can only encourage more airlines.

Arbetis really pissed off Ryanair and it has taken the Welsh Government a lot of effort to secure those Tenerife flights. The problem is Ryanair and easy jet will not base aircraft at Cardiff as Bristol is a base for them. The best we can hope for is a Vueling base. Hopefully the extra rugby flights that Vueling are doing to Paris and Rome may prove fruitful and they decided to get a Cardiff Fiumicino link going.
