In particular, they want people to stay around in Pulse later, rather than worry about having to leave to get to chippy lane!
The Parc Hotel (understandably) clearly don't like this plan, and look set to oppose any later opening.
The last I heard, they'd appealed the decision and lost the appeal so decided to open 11am-11pm anyway. Much of the argument was whether or not it would bring anymore noise to the area than the existing premises around the hotel presently do (there's a a lot of music audible from the venues on Greyfriars Rd as well as Churchill Way until the early hours). The chip shop had hoardings up prior to opening claiming it was unfair that Burger King and McDonalds both have 24 hour licences on Queen Street, yet a local independent was not getting the same chance etc etc...
Still, nice to have that unit occupied by something that isn't a pop-up store selling dodgy handbags or phone accessories, particularly as Phones4U and TRedz has closed in the same block, and Lush is said to be moving out soon.
Still on Queen Street, has anyone noticed that new Greggs which has opened at the rear of the old Peacocks? That came from nowhere!
