Wales v Belgium

PostFri Jun 12, 2015 2:24 pm

What a massive game for Wales this evening! I'm fortunate enough to have a ticket and can't wait! Wandered through town earlier and thirsty Belgigues out in force - They'd better leave some Stella for me!! Anyway the forecast is a bit dodgy for later but if we get a result (that's a draw or better!!) then I'll be singing in the rain - if it doesn't go so well, it'll be that head down, mildly hungover trudge down sloper rd that I'm all to familiar with (BLUEBIRDS!! ) Anyway this should be a great day almost regardless of the result - a full Cardiff City stadium and Welsh fans from far and wide coming together as one to support the National team. Should be a good earner for pubs and restaurants to. C'MON WALES!!

I must admit I love Colemans tactics of shortening the pitch for this match - but come on Chris they're gonna notice they're defending two goals!!!

OK I'm out of here! gonna get ready before I ban myself for being a twit! Think I need some refreshment to calm nerves soon

It's a great atmosphere in town at the moment. The Belgian fans are here in numbers and seem to be very good natured. I hope it stays that way.

The game is very difficult to call. On paper the Belgians are vastly superior in all but about two or three positions but Coleman seems to have made the sum of this Welsh team greater than it's parts. I may be tempting fate but so far we have conceded 2 goals in qualifying - a penalty against Andorra and a goal against Cyprus when we were down to 10 men. If we can keep it tight and with Bale on our side we could sneak something here. Fingers crossed and it's great to see a buzz about the Welsh football team again.

Best at atmosphere I've seen at a Wales match for years.

My voice has gone and I'm exhausted after that.

What a result.

My head is hurting. Apparently Wales are now ninth in the wrold rankings!

Great atmosphere last night. I particularly loved the spontaneous singing on the anthem.

Kiss of death.....

Belgium only marginally ahead of Wales to top the Group B

(bookies have given up on quoting for Wales to qualify)

the impromptu anthem was class. Bale geeing on the crowd and the entire ground raising the roof as a result.

A real backs to the wall rourkes drift performance from the players and at no time did the fans swerve from uncommitted support they needed.

Special mention goes to the belgians who were the best away support I've seen and were very magnanimous in defeat. A credit to their country.
