Agree with the comments about Bosphorous! A rude manager/owner that treated both customers and staff like dog's mess.

Is Frankie & Benny's opening in the former Ruby Tuesdays unit? I know there is an F&B opening in St Davids as they are looking for staff.

Some news -

The hoardings are up for Turtle Bay in Hodge House.

There is a sign saying that Atma Street Food are opening up in Church Street (the big corner unit that used to be Positanos). They might be connected to Atma cafe in Crwys Rd which is a vegan place run by Hare Krishna devotees.

I have also been told that work begins on turning Dominions House into a hotel and Marco Pierre White restaurant next Tuesday.

Applejacks has definately closed in Church St.

I was wondering when they might start on that hotel. It's taken an age.

Locke and Remedy have opened in the old library building. They've clearly spent some cash on the refurb; the mezzanine has been taken out, there's an open kitchen and - more importantly - good beers and cocktails. Food menu is short but tasty, mostly pizza and burger variants.

There is an application for change of use of the Nat West building in St Mary street to restauarnt/bar use on ground floor and basement. I think the application is from the group that own the North Star, the Vulcan and a few other places around Cardiff.

Nightlife as opposed to restaurants.. but looks like plans to refurb and reopen "The Square" as a music venue specialising in classic rock music in the main room, with dining on a mezzinine balcony. And upstairs, acabaret-style dinner and performance space.

It looks like Irie Shack are taking over what was Barbucci's in High street. They serve Jamaican/Caribbean food and have a restaurant in Woodville Rd at the moment so must be doing quite well to open another outlet in the city centre (especially with Turtle Bay opening up in Hodge House).

That's great news about Dominions house, the arcade sure needs it, really looking forward to the lift that this development/renovation will give the area. I'm going to start saving now so that I can pop up to that restaurant when it's done! :)

One of the many vacant units on Church street has a sign in the window saying 'ATMA Street Food - Opening Soon.' Not sure on any further details but good to see anyway.

Popped in to the new Locke and Remedy yesterday before the match, can highly recommend it, very nice burgers and pizza.
