The 'Hop Bunker' craft beer bar underneath the Northgate student development is progressing, new sign gone up with lime green lettering :|

The Burger King unit on Guildhall Place appears to be up to let.

Always was a strange place for a fast food joint. Apparently only paid for itself on event days.

It has a longish history though. It was originally built by a local company "Gold Burger", became a Wimpy, then a BK. I would have though it would have closed years ago if it didn't turn a modest profit overall.

BK and MacD's ar being squeezed though by coffee shops and more upmarket casual dining chains. It will be intesting to see who goes there - an outfit that adds to the areas craft beery vibe would be good.

Cardiff Council would probably be against it, but another type of establishment that compliments the pre-existing tenants on that strip like Brewdog, and Zero Degrees would be a nice addition.

Speaking of which, it's a pity about the multi-storey car park next door. Without it, Womanby street and Westgate street would be one long seamless strip of bars.

Seems as though Bar44 has started trading on Westgate Street in the old Pica Pica/Feather & Bone unit.

Was busy last night on what looked like an invited guests opening night.

**Sign outside says first trading night is this Friday**
