Anybody know the definitive answer?

Opening was delayed due to technical difficulties installing the new projection equipment, but the date has now been confirmed as next Friday, 17th.

It's always so much so much spin. In that article/puff piece, the manager confirmed that everything was all ready, and that the only delays had been due to utility work in the street outside, and they were now on for April 10th. I thought I hadn't noticed any utility work taking place near there for months. Is it really necessary to be so on message that that you have to make up excuses for relatively mundane and routine delays? It's not like "difficulties installing new projection equipment" would particularly damage their reputation.

What do you need gas for, heating? At £4 a ticket you don't need heating ;)

Over the last week or so a nice big LED screen has been constructed on the Dumfries Place facing part of the centre, in this bit here:

The screen fills the space where the Capitol ad is in the above pic. Should look quite nice when it's finished.

In other Capitol news, I notice Pulse has had a makeover, with quite a theatrical looking entrance which is meant to hark back to the old Capitol Cinema.

This is way overdue. I went in there a couple of months back and didn't stay very long, the place stank and my shoes were sticking to the sticky wet carpet. Absolutely gross. Dunno why gay bars and always so shit.

Because they can get away with it. That said, the gay bars of Cardiff are stuck in the 1980s and worse than most.

I'm not sure they can get away with it anymore. The gay scene, especially bars that cater for the younger market haven't got the captive audience they once had now that it's equally acceptable for gay people to go to any bar in Cardiff.

Maybe nowadays it's more a case of not being able to afford it, as most other bars couldn't unless part of a chain. Pulse seems to be about 60:40 gay/straight these days and seemed to have remained buoyant as a result, so they are probably able to afford to refurbish more than other bars on the scene.
