I didn't think we'd see an application go in for another office just yet, good to see. I wonder if they have more interest from potential tenants then? It looks pretty good and I like the fact it's similar to Number 2.

I was wondering if we'd see an application for something else at Capital Quarter before the one at the John Street plots they've acquired near Callaghan Square.

This is excellent news and I would imagine it's a good reflection on the interest that they have received for this development.

For me, what I found most encouraging was the South Context Elevation wider view, showing the adjacent 23-storey development on Herbert St and the intention to erect a similar height Block J. These, together with the proposals for the student towers and a tower at Wood St/Capital Squre will develop into a nice little cluster.

Absolutely. Approaching Cardiff from the east by rail will be impressive if all these schemes come off. I've always felt that the city centre lacks bulk to contrast with the green spaces that are the city's great strength. Hopefuly, we're getting there.

That context view doesn't look correct - the apartments and raddison blue abut each other. On that view they look like they are apart.

No I think it's accurate as the base of the hotel is only a couple of floors, and there is a gap between apartments and the tower element of hotel.

Incidentally welcome Peirianydd! great to see new posters diving in with photos/illustrations straight away! :)

Is it just me or does No.2 look as though Rick Waller has sat on the roof? It doesn't look right, it isn't high enough for its width. I think it should have been at least 1 more floor higher possibly even 2. No.1 seems to be proportioned correctly which to me exaggerates the flattened No.2 building next to it even more.

I personally think it looks alright. Once the whole scheme is complete, I think it will look quite impressive. The buildings are definitely designed to complement each other (No.2 has made No.1 look a lot better). The two towers will also make a big impact.

I think it looks ok, the height increase from 2 to 1 is a naturally progression in height to the taller towers the other side of the railways and lower buildings across Tyndall street. Definitely agree number 2 has made number 1 seem better, but then 1 is occupied now which helps!

dave has posted it already, but in a fresh thread. I thought it was worth putting the link here.

It looks like they are starting to build it next March, that's a bit sooner than I thought so good news.
